Nuvex provides a peer-to-peer campus marketplace designed for higher education students to buy, sell, and exchange items safely and efficiently.

1. Acceptance of Terms & Platform Scope
By creating an account on Nuvex, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. Nuvex is launching initially for the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) community, but these terms govern platform use across all subsequent tertiary institutions integrated into our ecosystem. Nuvex reserves the right to modify these terms at any time; continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Eligibility & Account Registration
To maintain a secure network, Nuvex enforces specific verification protocols:

• Age Requirement: Recognizing the academic timeline of university students, users do not strictly need to be 18 years or older to use the platform, provided they are currently enrolled in a recognized tertiary institution.
• Buyer Status: Anyone with a valid registered account may browse and purchase items.
• Seller Verification: To list items for sale, you must prove your student status. You are required to submit valid credentials, including your Full Legal Name, Institutional Email Address, and Matriculation Number. If institutional documentation is delayed, alternative official identification may be evaluated.
• Account Responsibility: You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3. Data Collection, Storage, and Privacy
By utilizing Nuvex, you grant the platform permission to collect, process, and store personal data essential for marketplace security and functionality:

• Full Name & Contact Info: Used for profile creation and to facilitate communication between buyers and sellers.
• Matriculation Number: Used strictly for backend background verification to eliminate fraudulent accounts. This data is encrypted and is never displayed publicly on your profile.
• Email Address: Used for account recovery, transaction receipts, and system alerts. We do not sell your email to third-party advertisers.

4. Marketplace Conduct & Listing Rules
Sellers assume full legal and financial responsibility for the items they post on Nuvex.

• Accuracy: All listings must feature truthful descriptions, accurate pricing, and genuine images of the product. Misrepresentation or selling counterfeit goods will result in immediate account termination.
• Prohibited Items: The sale of illegal substances, weapons, alcohol, academic dishonesty materials (e.g., test banks, ghostwriting services), or any items violating university codes of conduct is strictly prohibited.
• Fulfillment: Buyers and sellers are expected to honor agreed-upon pricing and meetups. Repeatedly failing to fulfill transaction commitments may result in account suspension.

5. Campus Safety & Off-Platform Transactions
Nuvex facilitates the discovery and connection between buyers and sellers, but physical transactions are completed at the users' discretion.

• Mandatory Safety Protocol: For physical, campus-based handovers, users are strongly advised to meet exclusively during daylight hours in highly populated, public campus locations (e.g., student centers, libraries, or areas adjacent to campus security posts). Never agree to meet in isolated residential zones or private dorm rooms alone.

6. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers

• Platform Role: Nuvex acts solely as a venue and technology provider connecting buyers and sellers. We do not manufacture, store, inspect, or ship any of the items listed on our platform.
• "As-Is" Basis: The platform is provided without warranties, express or implied, regarding the quality, safety, legality, or existence of the items advertised.
• Dispute Resolution: Any issues regarding product defects, broken items, or financial disagreements must be resolved directly between the buyer and the seller. Nuvex is not liable for financial losses or personal injury arising from platform interactions.

7. Termination of Service
Nuvex reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate or suspend any account that violates these terms, misuses student data, engages in fraudulent behavior, or brings disrepute to the collegiate communities we serve.
